I recently got several silkies. Over weekend noticed one of them was not opening her eyes . Brought her in and bathed her . Put her in pen in house . She's not eating or drinking. I went and bought some vet rx after being told she may have mites. She has scabs on skin . I put this in her mouth via qtip. After a day I bathed her again and put seven dust on her and put her back inside in pen . She does open her eyes now but does not keep them open. I made her scrambled eggs but she is not eating . I read to bathe her with flea and tick shampoo will I will do tomortoe I'm just scared she won't make it without drinking . I also put terramycin on her eyes today before I knew about mites and she did open her eyes . They are inflamed . But she does not keep them open for long . Any help would be appreciated .

Hi @Faith and fancy :frow Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos of the Silkies, the scabs and the eyes?
How old are they ?
What type of food/treats are you feeding?

It's hard to know what' going on, so hopefully your photos can clarify a few things.
Did you physically see mites or lice on the birds? Bathing and a dusting with Sevin should have taken care of those, I would not repeat a bathing with flea and tick shampoo.

If your Silkie is not drinking - this is what you need to focus on - dehydration will make them go down hill quickly. Do the best you can to get her to drink - you can give plain water or if need be add a little sugar to the water. Poultry vitamins are good too.
