Yes, as a matter of fact, I am completely insane.

Our DD (dear dog) Jax is five months old. I think it's time he had a baby brother.
The breeder has one male pup left out of their current litter. The pup is half brother to Jax, same sire. The mother is the granddaughter of a champion.
What are some arguments I can use to convince DH that NOW is the time to get another pup?

I got nothing.

DH has never raised a fuss about anything that I have dragged home until the day that DS's new Heeler pup ate the sofa. Literally. Ate the sofa. Pulled the cushions off, flipped them over and gutted them. It looked like snow in the living room.

Another dog would mean a divorce here

But, I soooo hope that you get your little fuzz ball!

I love how your mind works lol

Try telling him that by getting another puppy you are saving the animals sanity, that way the puppies can nibble on each other and poor Jax dosn't have to walk around and "try" to find a willing playmate!

- Dogs are pack animals and are happier with a pack.

- My original dog is better behaved now that she has a sibling.

- They will wear each other out.

- In case of failure of the original dog, you have an emergency backup dog.

- The more the merrier.

- The official ratio of cats to dogs is one cat per two dogs. You are under ratio currently.

- THe gov't is considering allowing us to claim pets as dependents. Another dog equals a bigger tax break.

Ummmmm... give me a minute. I'll think of more.

I think the argument that they will grow up and old together is the best one. It worked here !! We have Jac who is 2 and just got Ruby, 4 months - they are the greatest of friends, play together, sleep together and save me a lot of work!!

You know if you can afford another pup get it. They really need a canine companion so they remember that they are dogs and have a buddy to play with. Also it helps to keep you from over spoiling the pup. You know like when you're doing the dishes with your feet spread apart so pup can stand right there with you.

Heck if you want to just blame me for you getting another pup I don't mind. I'll be happy to enable you.
