TSC Chicks sneezing?

Evolution has proven that diseases mutate, often into a more deadly strain. You hear about it in the news, an example is the flu.
It's your choice whether you want to treat your birds or not and perputuate whatever disease they may have. If you knew what damage respiratory diseases did internally, you'd cull to end their suffering.

Yes mutations do happen. But it is impossible to get rid of all disease either. These birds show no sign of suffering. Like I said if anything changes I will reconsider my options. But at this point culling is over kill I believe, especially sense we can not be sure they even have a disease at this point.

There will always be diseases and mutations. Animals and diseases have evolved with each other for millions of years. No mater what we do that won't change. Like your example of the flu. It mutates every year or so, yet not all of us become I'll even with the worst flus and not being vaccinated. You are right, sicknesses are constantly evolving and changing with the species. No one can say whether or not any one minor bug will or will not mutate in the future. But it is impossible to eradicate diseases entirely as more will always evolve as time goes on.

I also purchase my chicks from tsc and farm and home store this yr. 3 different stores all the same day. I am startin my flock, i have 21 pullets anx 2 ducks in my brooder. All seem to b full of l

All seem to be full of life eatin and very active. My one easter egger was the first to be sneezing and raspy. But never acted sick. Well i have had them 3 wks now and i can no longer hear her breathing but its like its gonna thru theem a few at a time. I do not use medicated feed cause of my ducks. It almost seems like a virus. I also live in southern michigan and its cold. But i dont no. Any advice would be helpful

Yeah, I called them today to tell them what's going on and to send notice to the hatchery. It seems that they are over what ever that was and still no sign on other birds. But... Now my australorps have a developmental problem with their eyes. They are becoming deformed. The 3 other breeds are dandy but not the ausis. Looks like my ausis might be culls any way as I don't want any deformities or the genes in my flock.

In the last two years I have had NO luck with ausis. The adult birds I had were killed by a dog, then everything that I have purchased from a wide variety of hatcheries since then had either died in transit or suffered a deformity like the eyes on the TSC ausis. Argh!

Are ausis just susceptible like that or am i having some horrible luck here? All my other breeds have been fabulous.

See how his eye is chronicly looking back. It just keeps getting worse. He has chicken strabismus I guess. Its like his eye or skull is developing all wrong forcing his eye to the back. His 3rd lid is also too small to fully blink. He can't seem to move that eye nor see much out of it. His dept perception is way off obviously with one eye.

I'm not sure anything can be done about that. His other eye is fine. The other breds are fine as well. Just the ausies. This is the worst of the 3. :(

Sorry of there's errors. Sent from my phone.

I have gone to TSC to buy straw for the chickens: they don't carry straw
I have gone to TSC to buy the Gantrycin: they don't carry antibiotics for chickens
They have limited things there. I too wished they carried more for chickens.
I have a chick from a breeder and have the wheezing stuff too. First the feet and now the nose. Poor little Lemon Cuckoo hasn't had a good start. But I'm continuing to help her. Hopefully TSC will see to it the breeder does more than breed. I saw some new chicks come in and transit was too cold and a lot died..poor babies. Breeders and transport should be more considerate.

Hope chickens get well soon.
