TSC incubator or make my own, best chance?

The hubs has had a little giant still air, he claims for about 30 years now. It's always worked well for him but has been "on vacation" for several years. I think the last hatch he did was in 1999 (we found a 1999 Murray McMurray catalog on top of it in the closet

) Well we just broke it out two days ago and started it up and it is holding temp perfectly fine. I put in 17 eggs, 14 silkies from CJexotics and three silkie mutts from our coop yesterday afternoon.

We are thinking about going to TSC and picking up an egg turner for it today but not sure if they sell the smaller egg cups.

Think I will start a new post of my adventure...

Anyway my point is that we trust this incubator to hatch these eggs because it has been pretty reliable in the past.

I don't think you'll need smaller egg cups. It only works with tiny quail eggs. The turner they sell at the store will work fine for silkie eggs.

Thanks Feedstore Chick. I wished I had read your post earlier as we went up this afternoon and I passed it up. However we did run into a great sale on Layer pellets and were able to stock up for the winter. Alls well that ends well

Guess I'll turn this batch by hand. I really wasn't sure if I could install the turner this time around anyway because the eggs are already in there baking away.
