How many cochins? If you pick the best rooster to go with them, maybe you could add a rooster there? Then have the rest as a rooster flock?
I have six Cochins that were raised together and I have one, Eva, that was raised with three different breeded hens. I’m not sure what they are, they are not pictured here. The one, Eva, gets picked on by the other six so she’s separated from them. I pretty much have three flocks one of roosters and one female, one flock is all female Cochins, and the fourth flock is a mix of very shy hens that get picked on by the Cochins.
I’m trying to find a happy place for all of them before they get too old they are all under twenty weeks.

Ive found that most of the chicks from tractor supply are mixed breed. I have spent hours online trying to figure out their breeds. I don't breed my girls so I'm not picky about the breed. And I have fun trying to figure out their heritage. And what the others say is true. Until they start to visibly look like a gender the obly way to sex them is by venting and you have to be trained to do this. And even the trained ones get it wrong. I have a very beautiful rir roo that I was in total denial about until he started to crow. Lol This is him at 3 months. My little Fuzzy became Rusty.
