Tube feeding quail?

Hello, I am curious as to know who ever had experience with tube feeding quail? I had to made my coturnix quail take medicine before and the experience was horrible to say the least. I am afraid I almost got her choking several times...My quail is nearing her old age now and may need to be cared for again, so I thought I might as well prepare myself to do the deed in case of emergency. Does the tube go in the right/left side of her throat? Is 4mm aquarium air tube ok for this?

Thank you so much for answering! So I should put the tube to the right side of her throat(which means left side if I am facing her)...? I got the tube and syringe ready and everything, but just the possibility of tube feeding makes me nervous.
