So our chickens spent their first night outside last night. They did great. Came home about 130pm and not a single one had ventured out. So I tossed them outside and the kids put them back in a few hours later and they ventured in and out all evening.
I asked my husband if he had checked that they had all gone back to the coop and he hadn't so we went out. The smaller chickens we have all got back in the coop. The 2 roos and 2 big hens were huddled in a corner together...we have one hen that is younger and half their size and she made it in! So I grabbed them all and they didnt fuss at all
and put them in the coop.
And then i told my husband, this is why we tuck them in!!
We love watching them grow and develop personalities. I wish we had mixed them more in the 2 brooders because they stick with their brooder mates.
