I have four hens and live in Cochise County. Advantages of keeping chickens in hot, dry climate..... less susceptible to pest infestations like mites. Disadvantages? It's a challenge keeping the chickens comfortable in the summer, but it can be done! BYC has plenty of tips for that.

Hello from the Phoenix area! I highly recommend, for summer, adding to your run a masonry tub with a bit of water and a few bricks. Just a tip Also join us on the AZ Chickens thread anytime

Never raised chickens before. Bought an assortment of 10 from Tractor Supply Company and dived in. We want chickens for the eggs.

Bought a run off of eBay big enough for 20. Built a coup from plans found off the internet.

Chickens are now 3 months old and just a week started living in the run/coup
