We have two chickens - they both stopped laying over the winter, and recently one of them has started laying again (one egg every other day). The other one hasn't laid an egg since September.
The other day we went out to gather the one egg, and sitting next to it was an oddly shaped egg sized pink tumor-like-item. My boyfriend picked it up (I wasn't going near it) and cut it in half. It was a solid mass.
Has anybody ever seen anything like that? Should I be worried? I don't know which chicken it came from. They both eat well, they act normal, and they have layer pellets, oyster shell, and occasional corn scratch.
