would a cross between a dark Cornish and a turken be a good idea for meat I've been thinking of getting some of both of these breeds down the line and thought experimenting with the mix would be interesting.

(edit)
also if anyone has any pics of this mix posting it would be much appreciated

You should produce a meat bird with a good carcass that will be eating size sooner than a turken would ordinarily be.

I have crossed a dark cornish on barred rocks and got nice fryers by 8 to 10 weeks of age.

Do you have any pics of that cross ? I've thought about doing that. That would give you some nice sexlinked meat birds.

from what i under stand it would look like a Cornish X but the roos will be barred, the hens wont (if the hen is a barred rock it should work out to that sex link) ,and they'll be smaller then the Cornish X

How brittle are the feathers from these interesting crosses? I do a lot of feather crafting, and crossing Dark Cornish with maybe Partridge Rock has been tempting.

Turken and red ranger make a good cross too.
