My bought my turkens from Purley Poultry like 3 years but they came from Ideal. There were great chickens 2 out of the 5 I got are always broody every late spring, they also lay big eggs. All are still alive and I love them...
I also got 4 turken roosters from meyer last fall and only 1 out 4 was worth keeping, the rest I sold to a livestock auction cause they were small and not growing well, but I made good cash on them cause at the auctions people thought they were half there age lol... The rooster I kept is very nice, I love him! He's red with a huge bowtie..
Once again I bought a few turkens from McMurrays this April I only bought 1 male, 1 female cause I had a broody hens in the past that hatched turkens so I just bought a few just cause I like them. They gave another free rooster, so I have 3, they seem great so far. All are red color 2 have no bowtie and 1 has a small bowtie.
All in all I would buy turkens from either Purley poultry, Ideal, or McMurrays. McMurrays seems to have abit better turken standards cause the turkens I got from them had no/little bowtie also they have yellow legs for a red turken (alot of hatchery turkens have green legs). But next time I buy turkens I'm buying from a good breeder.
