Turkenstein25's Turkey Talk for 2015

One of my Royal Palm hens laid 3 eggs this week ending. 2 of the eggs were just laying in the run. 3rd egg was in the turkey house. I like to go in their house after they go to roost & talk & pet them. This evening one of the less than 1yr old hens sat for me while being petted. So I figure she's the one laying. Named her Snow White.

We had 4/5 turkeys hatch quickly and do great. The fifth was pipped then for over 24hrs and no progress made and the membrane was looking pretty dry. We flaked that spot of the shell and made a little hole in the membrane and then it started to move it head right away so we left it again. It finished hatching this morning. Now besides being very week it has a sore on it's back - the skin is split open. Could this of come from the membrane ripping it off or what so you think? What can I do for it or should I just leave it? The only thing I can think of is putting a little steri-strip on it to keep it pulled together... But I don't want to make anything worse.
Any input or help would be appreciated, thanks!

Just saw this. I would've just put a little triple antibiotic (without the pain reliever) on it.

Did the poult make it?

Unfortunately no it didn't make it. It seemed to be just laying around resting all day. The other little chick I left with it for a buddy would get up and run around but little guy never even got up, if he went to his back he got stuck there and I had to move him. It honestly one it was fluffed and dried up looked like spina bifida (I've seen it in babies) but I don't know if poultry get anything like that. He was he only one to start late and struggle.

Help!! I have a two year old white turkey who has been living and raised with chickens. This morning as always I let them out to free range. About a half hour later I noticed she was squatting or brooding in the middle of the front yard. She has never been overly friendly so it surprised me that she let me walk right up to her and pet her. I tried getting her to move and she just stayed put. She has been moving around and clucking but then just squats and doesnt move. I cant find anything else wrong with her and cant find anything online to help me.

My turkeys do the same thing. I call it 'stalling.' xD they walk right up to me and they squat. Do their wings kind of sprall out... like this? its not the best pic. but mine point their heads toward the ground and their wings sprall out. my theory is they are either afraid of something. and they just do that. One of mine extremely dislikes the wheelbarrow. every time o move it close to her she 'stalls' if i move it away, she follows me and when she comes close to it again. she 'stalls.'
