Hi all, my super smart turkerys are soaked, they thought they'd have a lie down in the pouring rain

So I made them all go in, and turned on heat lamp for them... Anyting else I should do?
Thanks in advance everyone

The roof of my Turkey pen flew off in a severe thunderstorm and when I got home I thought my Turkeys were gone! They flew over the five foot fence and flew over another fence and were in the chicken coop! Pretty smart Turkeys!

Poults can be in serious trouble if they get wet. Our older ones seem to get away with it but we have trained them all to run for shelter when rain starts because the poults copy the others. It's almost a daily issue here at the moment and the storms are merciless. They all seemed to enjoy the relief from the heat. We had to get soaked ourselves until they understood that rain meant food in a nice dry coop. We look out for the approaching clouds and make sure that they head for cover before the storm starts.

I hope that yours are OK.
