Turkey hen is 8 months old. What is happening to her tail!?

Where is she roosting? Is she close to a wall? That looks like broken feathers from rubbing.

She doesn’t roost. She lays in a metal dog crate where her nest is.

That is tight enough quarters to cause that tail damage everytime she brushes them against the cage.
