We got our tom a few months ago. He was extremely friendly and let us pet him. He especially loved his head and back of neck rubbed. In the past week he’s become aggressive. He won’t let us touch him, but he still stands right in front of us. I should add we have a female turkey who has not let him anywhere near her until just recently. Is this pecking part of his mating ritual?

Over friendly toms may fight you for dominance. It's best to not over handle them to avoid it. That bright red head means he's excited and agitated.
