This is my first year with turkeys and I have 3, 8-week old BR poults raised with 3, 7-week old chicks (all female, presumably). One of the poults has singled out the Columbian Wyandotte chick (my son's "Twinkle, the Snow Chicken"

), and is posturing in front of her. It crouches down low at her feet, stands up and circles around, standing up really tall, then crouches down at her feet again. While Twinkle looks like she's thinking, "WHAT are you DOING??", then finally runs away.

So what is the poult doing? Proposing?

My dad says when they're circling and posturing like that, they're horny and trying to entice the lady. a little courtship if you will.

Now I do not know if that's true or not, but that's what he says.
