Hi,
This is my 3rd time raising chickens and have had not injuries or illnesses thankfully.
But with this batch of chicks, I also got two turkey poults.
They are all 5 weeks old but one of the turkeys developed a bad leg today. Not sure why or how it happened. But the left leg is weak at the hip. Sometimes the poult can get it under him but most of the time its flays out to the side. The other leg seems fine but gets shaky when the little thing has to walk to far.
I compared the two turkeys and the one with the problem seems to have swollen purple joints on both legs where the other one has pink joints and normal looking.
I am not sure, but I think this poult also is the same one with a droopy wing when I bought it...but the wing recovered eventually and both poults are the same size and otherwise look healthy.
Any information out there?
