Hello!
So recently... I was given a Boston white turkey pair . The owner originally was going to process but I ended up with um. I wasn't honestly ready (I'd have liked to get a net up 1st on the run) so they've been in my rabbit area with growouts. (The rabbits groom them and the turkeys let them under them like they are poults-)
Now... I did get a free run the other day but I'm hesitant on putting them in there as it's only a 8x6 vs the 10x10 they are in.

I'm debating on waiting till next year when I can get a 10x13 as I can expand the flock with some hens.

But 1st question
Should I keep them in with the growouts as they seem to get along and have room?
Can they also have the same treats as my chickens? (Scratch, berries, etc)

Hi! Turkey keeper here. Did you mean broad-breasted white turkeys? I looked up "Boston" and couldn't find anything.

To answer your questions:
1. As long as they are getting along, I don't see the harm in keeping them together temporarily. I would keep an eye on them though, as the turkeys are obviously much bigger than the rabbits and could hurt them accidentally. Whites are very docile and sweet, so as far as temperament goes, they shouldn't be aggressive toward the buns at all.

2. Yes, they can have the same treats! A word of note, though: If you are talking about broad-breasted, I will advise to be careful what you feed them and how much, as they can get very heavy and die. They were bred for meat, and like broiler chickens, are susceptible. If the original owner was going to process them, I'm guessing this is the case, so I'll leave a link for you to an informational article! https://opensanctuary.org/large-breed-turkey-special-care-considerations/

Adult turkeys need a much bigger area to live in than the small pens that you are talking about. In a coop, they need at least 10 sq. ft. of clear area per adult bird. Then they need a run of at least 50 sq. ft. per adult bird.

If they are Broad Breasted Whites, they will need a special diet and lots of exercise to remain healthy and alive. Treats will not be good for them.

If they are Broad Breasted Whites, they are produced by artificial insemination at the commercial hatcheries and do not do well as self breeders.

As the previous poster pointed out, there is no such thing as a Boston White turkey.

Post pictures of the turkeys in question.
