How badly will turkeys scratch up the ground?

I'm wondering if they could go into my berry patch and not ruin my berry plants.

So long as they are afforded ample areas to dirt bathe (majority of `scratching'),

ours have not `scraped' in the berry patches beyond attempts to set up nests amongst the canes:

I'd suggest some minimal chicken wire/cheap temp. plastic fencing when berries are setting/ripening - they'll clear them out (too tasty).

When they find the berries you can kiss them goodbye. Turkeys love berries!
