We have twelve four to five month old turkeys....mostly females. My husband went out to feed them the other day and he said they were all in a perfect circle doing some type of dancing. All were in perfect unison. I don't think he was kidding, as he is not that type.
Is the "dancing" as a group normal or what?

Yes, the `happy' dance. Ours would start out circling on the ground and then launch themselves off of the ground to take short flights (still maintaining a loose formation).

Another stunt they'd pull was to hang back from us (foraging and `pretending' not to notice that we were moving out - 30-50yds. away) and then start yelping, running and flying directly to us. Always looked like they'd certainly knock us over, but they'd pull up, land and go back to foraging aournd us as if nothing happened.

Our three survivors are now 4yr. old but, I'll bet, as soon as the first `real' cold front of the fall pushes through they'll be so `pleased' with the change in the weather that they'll be `dancing'.

Me too! I wish my husband had had a camera to take pictures, but who would have known that something like this would have happened.
