I know this may need to go under eggs\\incubation section, but I'm thinking I need turkey specific help. I recently got six Bourbon Red turkey eggs off BYC auction and I am about 15 days with the eggs in the bator. My questions is that when I candle these eggs they do seem to be developing, however I'm not seeing a air sack to speak of. I have done chicken eggs before and remember that I could track the air sack growth from your first candle. Is this normal for turkeys to not have much of an air sack at this point?

History:
Eggs arrived well package and I let them rest for 12+ hours before they went into the incubator. I've been keeping the humility around 40-45 and turning them three times a day. I've candled them three times in the past week *day 7, 10, and 15* and they seem progressively been getting more developed. At this point all but on egg is almost completely dark, with just a bit of light at the pointy end of the egg.

Normal or do I have problems?

Typically you should see an air sack at 15 days. I assume the eggs are small end down in the incubator? The air sack should be about the size of a nickel.

Hmmm I would think you would see the air sack - even if it is broken (in which you would see a rather large air sack all down the side of the egg or two separate small sacs. What makes you think they are developing without the air sack present? I hope this is not the case - but you could have some bad eggs. I have been hatching for 5 + years and have always seen the veins, and watched the air sack grow and become more defined. Hope this helps.

>.< alright, seems the issue was a id10t error as they say in the computer world. My standard chicken candling processes was not bright enough to handle turkey eggs. Much bright light at closer range, everything looks great. Thanks for the suggestions.
