I am having a pretty tough time telling whether or not my 4 blue slate turkeys are male or female, going off of the typical things to look for...
They're 4 months old on the 1st of Sept.
But trying to get front view, side shot, and behind photos that are in focus is proving to be harder than getting a family photo of my children all looking and smiling at the camera at the same time 😂

I have heard at least 3 gobble once before so that has me worried...does that mean definite males? I can't see any beards coming in yet either.

I'm going to post what pictures I have and try to upload better pictures as I get them.

That one looks definitely like a tom to me at this stage. I've never really had slates at a young age though so the hens might look a little different then the redder toned birds I'm used to.

Being all 4 related they all have this look (as far as caruncles, snoods, etc.) so im assuming if I can get a confident answer to this bird I can probably assume the same on the others. I'm currently looking into my options for finding hens of a similar age because I am afraid I have 4 toms 😩 and like I said, most of them have gobbled....
