I know they have a chart for the incubation period for chickens. Do they have one for turkeys? Mine are on day 16 and im curious to see what they look like in the egg right now... i dont have a candler.

Sorry.... I did a bunch of google searches, and didn't find anything. But I can tell you how to make a candler. Roll a piece of cardboard unill it is a cone shape. then put a flash light under the wide part of the cone, and CAREFULLY balance the egg on the narrow end. Then turn the flashlight on and see what you can see! Hope I helped!

I agree i think they are due may 9th. My broody hen is due saturday.. would anyone putt the hatched turkey eggs under the hen?

One of the simplest candlers I've ever made/used is a mag light pressed into the bottom of a full roll of toilet paper. Light only shines up throught the tube, the toilet paper blocks any stray light and eggs sit perfectly on the top of the tube. For a while I even had a dedicated mag light that I duct taped the toilet paper roll onto...........Opihi

I've been using a small maglight and my hand. I cup my hand up against the egg with the light inside my hand--sounds awkward, but you can at least tell if the embryo is growing. I've got 4 Blue Slates due to hatch next week-woohoo!
