Hi Everyone,

On Sunday our beloved turkey started acting funny out of the blue. We are not sure what happened, we are assuming our dog bumped into him while he was running around… it’s happened in the past but nothing like this. This started Sunday night, yesterday morning he acted fine was walking around puffed out and gobbling. This morning we are back to square one. Picture is what he currently looks like. Anyone had anything like this?

Giving him vitamin E can't hurt. Wry neck is a common affliction, caused by E deficiency or minor nerve injury or even stress. One capsule each day for a few days should cause improvement. If no improvement in a couple days, increase the dose to two caps per day. Give with a sliver of selenium or cooked egg to improve absorption.

Whatever happened to the turkey? I have one that had similar symptoms a month ago and improved with vitamins and isolation. He was back to himself. This morning, he was like this again. But, with a new symptom...bloody stool.

It was a long process but after a month he started getting better and acting like himself again. We are currently experiencing cold weather in our area so just as an extra precaution we are leaving our flock inside to stay as warm as possible. I personally think cold weather might be a contributing factor which may cause the stiffness and discomfort. Bloody stool could also be a result from a possible vitamin deficiency along with the wry neck again.

Thanks so much! I started vitamin regimen again this morning, and isolated him from the others. He's the dominant one, so my other Tom is being mean to him. It's terribly cold here too in NC.
