I needed some shelter for our turkeys out on our pasture so I thought the hoop shelters I have seen around would be the easiest to build and would give the turkeys somewhere to get out of the sun/rain. It took me a couple of days (about 6 hours total time) to build and turned out better than I thought it would.

The turkeys are only about 6 weeks old right now but I took them out yesterday so they could try it out. The LOVED being outside and not in the brooder! I still have to put some covering on it, but the turkeys probably won't leave the brooder for another couple of weeks.

I'm going to build one just like it for the cornishX that we are getting next week.

Just wanted to share.

Great job! Thanks for the picture; I'm in Florida and am thinking of making my run out of these cattle panels.

Thanks everybody!

lisebarb, I have to come up with a better way to attach the rope. With the chicken wire on there it was a little bit hard to get on. I'm thinking of just drilling a hole in the skid and putting the rope through that.
