Build it as big as you can. You need to get more turkeys so your turkey has companionship.

Turkeys for the most part really aren't coop birds. It would help to know your general location to give better advice. Cooler climates may benefit from a different style than warmer climates would.

I live in northern Pennsylvania, I wish I would've known! I got from someone who raises and they never mentioned needing 2, I feel so bad for her now! I was planning a 5 feet by 5 feet enclosed space with small wire covered openings for ventilation and a large shelf 3ft off the ground for sleeping. I have read its best to lock her in overnight

I personally would not go smaller than 8' x10' at an absolute minimum. Bigger is even better. You have to take into consideration their full wingspan too.

Northern PA does not require any special considerations other than having really good ventilation. The humidity in the heat of summer and the cold of winter can be problematic.

I believe @OneMountainAcres is in northern PA.

I'm actually in West central, PA but close enough ;)

@Lhopper if you need more turkeys for her, I have a bunch of poults still lol. 5 x 5 wouldn't be terrible for just her but she'll definitely want some companions. Turkeys are flock animals and don't do great alone. My turkey coop is just an old 10 x 14 shed. The only ventilation it has is a small window that I keep open a few inches.... it's not enough. Over the winter, the walls will get a light layer of frost in them overnight, every night. Your ventilation ideas sound like they would work well as long as they're up above head hight when she's on the roost. I highly recommend a light in the coop. It will help encourage her to go in when it gets dark. Some training will be required too. My lights are on a timer. They turn on at about 6am and off at 9pm. I just make sure I'm out there before 9 to shut them in. Here's inside my coop.

View attachment 2810623thank you so much for your advice! I am in clarion county, is that close to you?

Go mark out a 5'x5' area on the ground and try standing in it with an adult turkey. It is too small an area for any adult turkey.
I found these dimensions for researching other turkey owners, it was just a rough idea open to criticism and friendly advice:)
