turkey incubating questions

I found a nest of turkey eggs while mowing my hay and the turkey took off that was brooding them. She hadn't returned for about 5hrs so I snatched them up. Some of the eggs lookb old while 4-5 look pretty fresh. I have 2 questions. #1 how long will a turkey brood an egg before it doesn't hatch? I'm wondering if she has been sitting on them for awhile. Their pretty scratched and dirty... while the others look so white and clean. Is this any indication of freshness? Also its the temp and settings the same for the turkey as the chicken? As far as temp goes?

The temperature is the same for chickens and turkeys.

Turkey eggs take 28 days to fully develop and hatch.The mother will probably stay in the nest for 30 days or so even though my turkey was broody for 3 months and she didnt hatch anything lol.

If some of them are fresh maybe she wasnt broody.She is just laying some more and when she is done she will go broody.

Were they wild or not?

Last year I switched to dry incubation with my chickens it raised my hatch %. I can't do a dry incubation with thurkeys?

I wouldn't do a dry incubation with turkeys, but I live in a very very dry area and higher elevation. What is the bator's humidity during the first 25 days? Being in Iowa, I'm assuming its probably above 30% without adding water? I might stay at that but when they go into lockdown, I would get the humidity as high as you can. I have 5 turkey eggs in lockdown right now and the humidity is about 80%. Their membrane is soooo much tougher than a chicken egg's membrane so it needs that extra humidity for the poult to be able to get through it.
