I'm new to the group don't exactly sure if I doing this right, bit I live in arkansas and my hen laid an egg today. Is it not way to early for this, and will the eggs survive the cold? This is the first time for her to lay. Thanks

You are far enough south that is is normal. If you are concerned about freezing temps you can replace the eggs with fake eggs for the time being.

I am farther north and don't expect any eggs until about 3 more weeks.

Mine usually start around St Patrick's day in northern illinois. ...you're farther south, so probably not too early.
