Turkey leaving for days?

We have a young broad breasted jake. Our birds are allowed to free range. He has been incredibly social and followed us like a dog. 5 days ago he was missing. No feathers, blood, etc. Today I saw him, he came to me, ate and drank. Looked good, no wounds, etc. I thought he was back. Then a few hours later he was gone again. My husband added two other royal palm turkeys who are a couple of months younger but appears one male one female. Is it possible they are chasing him off? Would he be leaving for another reason? If he comes back I fully intend to lock him in the coop/run but I can't find him currently. Just wondering your thoughts. Thanks!

Do you have wild turkeys? He could be hooking up with them.

Haven't seen any, but it is a possibility in our area.
