One of my turkeys attempted to roost on an aluminum ladder that my son failed to put away after "kinda" cleaning the gutters. My BBB tom got his leg stuck in the ladder, and I found him hanging upside down by his leg. I got him unstuck, but it's been a week, and he won't use his right leg to hold any weight. He bends at the "knee", can move his foot, but won't use his hip. I'm thinking it's a muscle strain, since it's not dislocated, as he's using the rest of his leg, and it's definitely not broken, and no slipped tendon. I'm thinking of building him a PVC cube, and creating a sling to set him in so he can build up his strength. I just can't have him in my living room on the dog bed anymore, for obvious shitty reasons. Any thoughts? Not gonna give up, because this particular turkey is "my guy".

Leg injuries can take a long time and I think your on the right track with him, rest and limited movement. Can you create a small spot for him in the coop? Not that he wants to give up the dog bed:lol: or tv! I think the sling might help.:caf
