Hi,
I went to let out my chickens and turkeys out when I found one of my turkeys lying on the ground. At first, I thought it was dead, but when I got closer, I found that it was breathing shallowly. I cleaned the visible wounds out with warm water, but as I started to clean around the eyes, I was shocked to find this:
I don't know if they've lost one or both of their eyes. One socket is bleeding a bit. They're moving only slightly.
The inside of it's beak was caked in blood, and a clot was blocking it's airway. I have that revmoved now, but it's breathing hasn't improved. Since the turkeys share housing with my chickens, I have to wonder if the chickens did this. The turkey is about 2 moths old.
EDIT: I decided to cull. The poor thing is out of it's misery.
