hi there,
so my tom is molting... I bought him about a month ago, and he's reportedly about a year old. He's dropping a quill-pen worthy wing feather about once a day and I can see some pin feathers coming in on his chest when he struts.
So here's my new-to-turkeys question: how long does molting take, and do I need to be doing anything special nutritionally?

I've got chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, gineas. they're getting scratch and game bird crumbles, access to oystershell, free range pasture, water.

thank you!

So long as he's on a good 20% protein or better ration that's all you need to do. Turkeys molt more often than chickens do in a slower process. Twice a year or so.

thank you, that's what I needed to know!
