turkey,,or not?

My Holland White turkeys are very gentle with kids and every other animal here on the farm, all 40+ turkeys, but the toms will gobble and display for everyone and anything that moves or makes a noise outside. As far as flying, only as poults and young adults, but knowing where they get fed, turkeys are too smart to go very far. We have ours on 5 only partly fenced acres and the toms do not go far. If you clip flight feathers, only clip one side, it keeps them off balanced. They eat a higher protein (28%) turkey or game bird feed and will use the pond to wade in in the summer, to keep cool. Be very careful of poults getting chilled, until they grow out of their poult feathers into their teenage feathers as they are very delicate, to raise while under 3 months! As adults they are tough as nails! They are the most curious, personable critters on any farm! Ours would surround the 2 lab pups, when they felt the hens needed protection, threatened with the rough puppy play, but no harming and now that the pups passed the puppy stage, they ignore each other. Everyone I know liked chickens and ducks until they got turkeys. If I had turkeys first, I probably would not have gotten chickens! I say if you are getting turkeys, jump in with both and get a pair of heritage, so they can make you more. I am not familiar with the breed you mentioned, is it a cross breed?
As far as Blackhead and mixing with chicks are concerned, too much said in turkey threads already, for me to elaborate any on that.
