We have a female MW about 5 months old now. She is in great condition and so heavy I can't pick her up (although I can pick up our full grown geese). She isn't lethargic at all and eats well and everything, climbs on the fences, roosts like normal, etc ... but this week she has started plopping down, puffing out her feathers, and shaking every time we try to move her somewhere. She's always been great about "herding" with the other birds into the pen or into the house at night and she follows us around otherwise. Is this a normal turkey thing or has she figured out that we can't pick her up to move her?? Or should we be worried that she might be coming down with something? (Beginning to wonder why Benjamin Franklin thought turkeys were dumb birds ... )
