Turkey poult swollen leg, thread wrapped around..

Hi my turkey is limping, but on inspection it seems to be thread wrapped around its leg and it has swollen up, or is this BB?
what should I do, I can't seem to get at it to release all the fibre, because the swelling is so bad, should I puncture the swelling to release the inflammation?, then try to clear the thread?
Thought I would post this in a new thread, as at the moment he is all wrapped up ready for action.

What I would do is to take a pointy scalpel or some other pointy very sharp knife and very carefully pick at the string where it is closest to the surface until it is completely cut through. Then using tweezers keep pulling the string until you get it all off.

Hi thanks for that, I managed to get some out, but its really hard because of the swelling, I have put him back in with the others now and will have another go tomorrow hoping that the swelling has gone down a bit.
