Last night my turkey poults accidentally stayed outside in the wind and cold (probably 50 degrees) instead of going inside their coop to sleep. My husband found them out there at about midnight, one was already cold and stiff, the other he thought was dead too but it opened its eyes when he picked it up, so we got it in the house and got it warmed up. It seemed to be doing fine this morning, but now it's having a problem. It is sneezing out incredible amounts of clear fluid that looks just like water, and its chest area feels like it is all swollen up with fluid, sort of like there's a balloon in there--it doesn't have that solid feeling like it just has a really full crop. However, it is still running around eating, drinking, and peeping its little head off trying to find its buddy that died.
Is there anything I can do to help it? The poult is about a month old.
