Does anyone know where I can get approx. 50 turkey poults? I would like mostly broad breasted but want some heritage breeds also. Any help would be appreciated.

Alot of the hatcheries have stopping shipping because of the heat, poults don't travel well in the heat of the summer. If you are near Eastern North Carolina we have White Holland, Beltsville White, and Midget White turkeys for sale but thtey are pick up only.

do you ever sell your midget white turkey eggs? i've been really thinking about getting those but haven't found many people that know much about them. (sorry to hijack this thread) can you tell me a little about the midget whites and their pros and cons??

Yes we do sell eggs in season, last year we were able to sell some in the fall after the weather cooled off. Most of our egg sales are in the spring, we sold here, on ebay and some on eggbid. If you want some eggs you can email us and we will let you know when they start laying

The Midgets were developed in the 50's as a small meat type bird along the same lines as the Beltsville small white, the Midgets were a late comer when the popularity of the smaller birds was on the decline due to poor breeding and the rise of the broadbreasted white so the Midgets never really took off at all. They are a smaller turkey, the toms about 20 pounds, hens 12-ish. They aren't as broad breasted as the Beltsville but they did win in a taste test that the ALBC did this year.

We like them quite a bit, they were our first breed of turkey so they have a special place I guess. They are friendly and semi curious (Not as curious as a Bourbon Red). With their smaller size they are pretty good at fence jumping, the hens can clear a 6 foot fence easy. They are healthy and active. About the only con I can think of is they tend to go broody quicker than other breeds we have, they are good sitters and mothers.

Hope that helps some? If you have any others questions feel free.
