Turkey sliced his leg up.

the bottom broke out of a night coop he was in and he sliced his leg up and the inside tow on the right foot is bent back now and doesn’t straighten.
We were planning on eating him for thanksgiving or Christmas but now he’s sliced his foot/leg pretty good and not sure what to do?

If my grandma was here she’d know exactly what would be best in this situation. She’s no longer with us so hopefully some kind internet stranger can help out.

He has the toe straight here but it flops

If he is large enough, I would be tempted to process and freeze him in anticipation of the holidays. He will heal, but the injury may cause him to lose weight and condition.
