Hello all,
Feels like I only post when I have an emergency
Oracle, a blind turkey of mine, went into a mating stance today and began wheezing significantly.
Her pattern of breathing involves a seemingly normal breath in, but her exhale is a long, strained, whistly and staggered wheeze that ends in a great yawning gasp. I’ve heard of gape worm, but Im not sure the symptoms line up.
I usually try to keep the toms from mating with Oracle because she had a breathing problem like this as a day old chick, but she seemed to grow out of it and now only begins it when she enters a mating stance.
This ‘bout’ however has lasted more than twenty minutes and I am worried.
Does she have a lung problem or something? Video is attached.
