Hey all,
My turkey has two jagged puncture wounds and I think they are definitely stitch worthy. However, after extensively calling around, no clinic within a two hours drive will see a turkey (not surprised, but this is maddening). And since the car is in the shop, my insufferable ride isn't willing. Yet ;-)
Day three.
I have bathed the wounds well and used saline rinse. Than I filled the first inch with antibiotic ointment and "sealed" with honey. He is alert, but I'm concerned. The insides were grey and smelled like the beginning of decay and it is ridiculous that he can't get any medical attention when he needs it. Will likely find a way to get him to a veterinarian; any ideas or experience with this in the meantime? Concerned.
