I haven't posted here for many years, but need help for my 6-year-old turkey tom, BigBird. 3 weeks ago I noticed for the 1st time what I thought was Scaly Leg Mite, his scales were raised and he was all of a sudden just miserable and limping. So, I treated with Vaseline for a few days and the problem wasn't improving and his legs were bleeding, so I rubbed Neosporin on the worst parts and then the Vaseline. I also treated him with Ivomec at that time and then again last weekend (3 weeks later). I thought the problem was solved....poor guy didn't have any scales left, but his legs were not as sore and appeared to be healing. He was up and around, eating better and gobbling...I sure missed that sound! Then yesterday he was limping severely again and he has a patch of yellow on one of his legs and skin is beginning to peal off. I don't know if this is related to the mites or I was wrong from the get go. I have water soluable Tylan and plan to start him on that tonight. I would appreciate any help you can provide.
