I would guess you need to raise the humidity and lockdown the incubator. I am not an expert hatcher though by any means.

That is not normal which means that you should study your method and see if there is something that you can be doing better.

i know they make me crazy. I read and do what I'm told and if I sell them to other people they have the same problem. They pip but don't get out of the eggs. i'm getting good at egg C-sections. And they are healthy babies. But they just sit in the eggs and die , if I don't get them out. I find if they don't pip by day 26 they don't make it out, if I don't help

I have the added problem of hatching at a mile high altitude.

Make sure that the adults are getting high quality feed prior to and during laying season. Some people find that giving supplemental vitamins such as Nutri-Drench during this time can be helpful in getting better quality hatches.

I have my turkeys on a 20% protein All Flock with free choice oyster shell.

I try to incubate my turkey eggs at 30% to 35% humidity and raise it to 65% to 70% when they go into the hatcher.

If you don't lose enough moisture during the incubation stage, the poult can get too big to be able to maneuver to pip and can cause fully formed dead in shell losses.

It can also be due to genetics. The only way to establish that is by changing out your breeding stock for new breeding stock that is not related to the originals.

Yeah they are too big. The ambient humidity is never that low here in pa, even if I don't put any water in the incubator. there have been in the proper position except for one. Their beaks are under their wing , head up to the air cell

You can try putting the incubator in a small room with a dehumidifier in the room which will lower the humidity in the room and likewise cause the humidity to be lower inside the incubator.
