Well, well, well. So, they finally returned. It's been about 3 years since the Crazy Crows last set foot on my property and "tried" to terrorize the turkeys AND steal eggs out of the chicken house. Well, it looks like they decided to visit again. I heard a lot of commotion (turkey noises) near the outside sheep pen and saw a group of turkeys running, so I immediately grabbed the camera because I knew that this would be worth taking a pic of. I ran over to where they were and lo and behold, my worst nightmare had returned. The Crazy Crows!!! :barnie They are back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crow remained on the fence post (he knew better then to land on the ground) and made loud screeching noises. He was on the fence post for about 2 minutes before he decided to fly away. This was probably a mole (deep cover agent) sent over to find out what they would be dealing with this year. I think he was testing the turkeys to see what they would do. Well, the turkeys didn't back down. I'm sure the crow will be back with an army of others. Not going to be good. :/ Here we go again with this mess. :barnie

A crow decoy on it's side surrounded with scattered black feathers, and they go, "Who killed the stranger? This is a dangerous place." I prefer the dead crow so that they can identify.

I have just lost one of my hens, found dead in the run, others are now off the lay since this event. We have two crows dive bombing our dove cote.....have they also frightened my nearby chickens as well?
Husband has ordered an air gun ...ex-army marksman......he claims. Is this the answer?

I know exactly what you mean when you say "dive bombing". I witnessed that this weekend. I have a VERY powerful pellet gun that can kill rabbits and squirrels. I have it cocked and loaded at the back door. As soon as the turkeys give me that signal, I will be up and running with them. ;)

I have seen them as much as a year later circle the site (very high in the air) where the dead crow was left giving the alarm call. Smart birds for sure.
