Two weeks ago I had a problem with my flock of turkeys .Kuntrugirl went over a few things with me and they all pulled thru. When the turkeys were sick I went and ordered some Broad spectrum antibiotics just in case I had anymore problems. These are a different flock of turkeys. Not the ones that were sick previously.
This morning I awoke to four dead turkeys. I had five each BR,Midget White, and Narragansetts. I immediately gave them all a Corid 9.6 / Vitamin drench by ten am I was down to two of each and added neomycin to the drench. It was a last ditch effort they were all on their way out. 3/6 are now starting to eat again which is a great sign and 3/6 are laying with their eyes closed breathing normal.
It seems when they are ready to go they have very labored breathing then they convulse and that's it they are gone.
I'm not exactly sure what they came down with. They showed no signs of being sick. they have diarrhea/very watery stools but other than that no other signs. I did have them outside for for the past week bringing them in when it would rain /night time came.
I will no longer be letting my young turkeys outside until they get older at least eight weeks.
Yesterday they got touched with rain.I toweled them off and put them in the brooder .
Could them getting wet be the reason they are dying. They got rained on at 1pm yesterday dried off and put inside.I was letting them outside because the temperature was in the 80-90 range.
Could they have picked up something in the yard ?
I have adult chickens and water foul that free range in the yard as well.
I've never seen anything die so rapidly within six hours I lost nine turkeys. There were no other signs until they started dying. They were lethargic and had diarrhea.
I'm keeping a close eye on my Chickens,Ducks and Geese to see if they show any signs of illness. They are showing no signs of illness.
Is it safe to give multiple antibiotics at once ? Will antibiotics get ruined if mixed with ACV ? Some meds only treat certain things . Is there a list of what Antibiotics to use for what symptoms?
