I have lost 3 6mth old turkeys in the last 2 weeks. I suspect blackhead, however, I thought that it only affected birds up to 18weeks old. They share outdoor space with chickens and I have now shut this area off.
As soon as the first one died I gave electrolytes to the others.
The last turkey to die seemed to be getting better after I quarantined it, then died this morning after I checked on it and it seemed fine.
Is there anything I can give them to prevent this from spreading - I am concerned about giving the blackhead medication it the remaining birds don't have it.
The symptoms they had are as follows:
Droopy wings
Ruffled feathers
2 had yellow feces
1 seemed to get better before dying
Another displayed no symptoms
Between this and my chickens not laying things are not going well!!!
