My two turkeys (female) have been fighting, on and off, sometimes even drawing blood. The brown turkey (sitting in the chair) seems to be the aggressor. They get to free range all day and they have a 4 x 8 ft pen to sleep in at night. The fighting occurs during the day, when they’re running around. Any ideas why they are fighting and what I can do to prevent it? Is it just a pecking order thing? Thank you 😊!

Hormones.

Read the Tribute to Memphis thread to learn how she dealt with this annual occurrence.

I’m looking for the same answer. I have one female that gets beat up all the time, so much so that she’s become an honorary chicken. I have the same set up as you do. I just don’t understand sometimes they are all fine and then they aren’t.
The only suggestion that sort of works for me is penning the aggressive one, or picking her up and carrying her around the yard for 10-15 minutes. Good luck 🍀
