That's pretty much what your going to hear from all of us, different opinions. The best advice is to CALL your local Extension office. If blackhead is not a problem in your area then you don't have an issue. If it is you either take the chance for separate them.Alright I need advice!!!! I keep reading that raising turkeys with chickens can give them blackhead but I see both sides if the arguments in this thread I asked this earlier an I got don't rise them together an I got it don't matter I've been doin it for years... If the turkey don't live in my chicken coop it won't be living in a very big ( accually a kinda small) coop... Would it be better to raise it in my 50+ sp ft coop or alone in a problably 30 sp ft coop that is not tall at all so it won't get anything air space...
Congrats on your babies......pics......Update time. I'm up to 5 out and 1 more pipping. Unfortunately had to perform a turkey c-section on last two so we'll see how they are in the morning. oh and it's only day 27.![]()
Unfortunately that doesn't mean much, some feed stores would do that regardless while most I've seen keep them in separate tubs. The way i understand it you can find out with one of 2 ways. 1 call your local county extension and ask if its been reported in your area. Or 2 raise them together anyway and see what happens. Simple as that.MY feed store housed them together.. Is that a sign if it not being in the area
