They were waiting for me when I returned home from work. This hen was setting on eggs in a bush in my front yard. She was out teaching them how to eat grass and they were. They walked around a while and then she went back to the nest to set on the remaining eggs.

Thanks all. They are doing great. My friend from work has 4 and we are hoping for atleast a few toms. I was planning on thanksgiving dinner but the wife said heelll nooo. Lol. So if they do breed I will keep informed. Lets just get them big and strong first. 1st. Timer and all. Thanls for all the help. This site is amazing.

Itried to post last night but apparently didnt have any luck!
I am starting a breeding facility, in Northwest Montana, Libby area. I have poults on the way, sweetgrass, narragansett, royal palms, and penciled palms. I am still looking for Midget Whites, and midget bronzes.
I have BB Bronzes, have tried AI, but don't know if I have been successful yet. The three hens are broody, so am also looking for eggs of the midget bronze and whites. They are wonderful gentle giants, but i didn't know they were BB Bronze, when I got them, they were supposed to have been standard heritage bronzes, live and learn!
I love the info on this site, thanks, Little Feather, Little Feather Farm, Birds of a feather, flock together!

Absolutely adorable!

I have a crazy question. If these are newborn poults and are outside already, why do we have to keep ours in the brooder for 4+ weeks.

Ooooh! Congratulations! They are so precious.

It looks like you used a Genesis 1588 incubator. Did you like it? I am getting ready to use mine for the first time.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 of them. I hinted to DH mothers day is coming and I could use a 3rd lol.

They are easy, heat up quick temps stay at roughly 99.6 give or take a .1 and add a tiny bit of water ever 3 or so days if your incubating at a slightly higher humidity or no water if you are dry hatching. I have the turner also so I glance in it occasionally other than that its kinda set it and forget it. With no worries.

The hen is FINALLY LAYING AGAIN! After that nest stomp I was thinking she might not. The assertions in here that she would has kept me holding my breath. Jake is now in jail so hopefully she will be able to hatch this clutch she is building. One egg so far.
