I am at 6 hatched so far . . . . we are busy today cleaning coops, etc., so I can't sit with my nose pressed to the 'bator window.

I have more BR and sweets in the incubator for a staggered hatch, and I have Narrigansetts with Oaks blood as well. The Narri are shipped so I am praying a few are not too scrambled !!

I have two jakes from Porters that need girl friends.

I probably need to order some poults from Sand Hill or Porters again--- but I only need a few, so if anyone nearby is willing to split an order, please let me know. I have 10 Auburn boys in need of girl friends.
WOW 10 TOMS... No hens in that bunch?

I am a noob for turkeys, but don't give up on them yet! I use dry hatch method on everything. keep humidity around 35% til lock down, then raise it up to around 70%. There are stickies on most species of fowl that recommend it on BYC. Good luck on your hatch

Thanks! I'm hoping everything works out......I guess I should have checked on here BEFORE I started my turkeys.

I seperated my white BB hens and a BBBxRoyal palm hen out with my black tom. One of the white hens promptly started limping. I dont see any spots on her pads or between her toes. She's so heavy I worry about leg problems on those BB girls.
One thing thats kinda interesting, the BB lay a huge egg and the black lays an egg that is only "large" chicken size. I have hens that lay bigger eggs. Only way I knew it was a turkey egg was it was white and I don't have any white egglayers.

Oh man, I may be jinxing myself here. The eggs I got from you are developing well ( 1 clear BR), which is amazing as the incubator has been being a bit temperamental. Anyways, since I will (hopefully) have 2 lonely SG, I just may need a few friends for them. If you order from Porters, I would be interested in getting some Fall Fires..

When you guys sell your poults do you always sell them for one specific price or do you give discounts if they buy more than a certain amount?

I sell my for one price when they are hatched. As they get older, I increase the price. I rarely give discounts. The feed store doesn't give me a discount (unless I have coupons) when I go to buy 50+ bags of feed, so I can't afford to give discounts to everyone. But that's just me.

I've never sold large # of poults together the way we do chickens or guineas, mostly just 2 or 3. I might sell a third a a discount but I guess it would depend more on how many I had to sell.
