4 more poults hatched, this time underneath a silkie mom

the two brownish ones are a surprise, I've only hatched whitish poults from my pair so far (royal palm x royal palm/bourbon red). Such cute babies.

The last picture is just too precious. Lovely hen and beautiful babies too!

Lol ok thanks. I'd love to see a pic of yours if you happen to get it on your computer. At what age do they start losing the feathers on there head?

Looks like one of the white one's got pooped on. They are in a nice coop and run on the back screened porch. The coop isn't that big but I have a roost in it, the run is several feet long. This proves that I need to get them on Craig's List ASAP

While I was taking this pic, my tom turkey, Chuck came over to prance around and drum around me, like normal. I put my camera on video and recorded him and he was prancing around me. I turned to catch him from my right side and he attacked me from behind. I kicked him back as he was flying up and trying to flog me in the face again and then swung my camera out as he kept trying again and again. I yelled to my Australian Shepherd to come over and he did but bent his head down and backed away. I finally got to the gate to get out, it was the longest 30 ft I ever walked backwards. I tried to intimidate him but he wouldn't back down. I had the same coat, boots, pants that I've worn before. I don't wear perfume. It's not unusual to have my camera. I was not near Rosie. It is mating season for them What caused me to to be more alert was that he was getting redder and redder and his dance was changing. Funny thing is, my camera was recording the whole thing. It's a blur, I can see his wings hitting the lens a few times but can hear my talking to him and him talking back. As soon as I find out if I need to change his food, his days are over. He's very large and I'm not going to risk him hurting my grandchildren. He's probably 14 mo old. I am just sick over it.

I am dealing with my gander right now who is probably going to see the same fate. Big Gee is my favorite goose, aside from my grey girl "weewee", spent a lot of time in my lap. WeeWee is the grey, Big Gee is the white, meeting our first gosling that hatched in march. Weewee thinks Paddy is "hers"


I think it really stinks too, but you got to go with your instincts! If you have doubt in your mind he is clearly not worth the risk. The only other thing i can suggest is one of the large plastic leaf rakes. If you go in his pen, take it with you. I am using one as a "walking stick" when I go into the goose pen. Rake end up. He is terrified of it, and stays away! Last fall, I saw all the birds would not come near me when I raked leaves

oooo scary thing! My gander has even went after my 78 year old mom, and THAT'S not gonna happen. All my males are showing some aggression except the Australorp rooster (so far), and my muscovy drake even went after my boot last week. I keep pinning the boys down when the attacks happen, and I am barely 5ft and 100lbs. We don't have any small children here but friends that visit do. I am keeping the boys penned if we have visitors and hoping they settle down.

Omg I'm so sorry that's so sad he's vary pretty but you can't keep a bird that's that big around if he's going to attack people.

Thanks they do look about the same age as mine. I put mine on Craigslist today for $20 bc I really didn't know what someone would charge for a 7-8 week old poult and I got two replays in 30 min. should I have asked for more? Bre

I'm not sure either. I was going to ask on here how much to charge. In 2 weeks there will be an auction at our county barns, I guess I'll go see what I can find. I'm probably going to keep one of my own. I still have 2 - 1/2 doz in the incubators and she is still laying. Do hens turn as aggressive as toms? I'm wondering if I should process Rosie too. I had DH go out this morning with me to feed them and he came right for me. He is definitely protecting Rosie as he circles her and always positions himself between Rosie and me. But that was not the problem last night. She was no where near us. This. morning he left DH alone
